Where Story and Objective Meet.

At UTHP we have spent 20+ years steeped in objective-driven storytelling. Whether your objective is to increase brand awareness or fund your Non-Profit, we understand the dynamics of story and action, and quite frankly, we’re very good at it.

Featured Documentaries

When Elephants Fight is the award-winning documentary film that explores the conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

When Elephants Fight

The story of 3 artists in the Democratic Republic of Congo who are doing just that by protesting the prevailing media narrative of war, conflict and rape - and using their artistic voices to reclaim their nations narrative and present a more complete perspective of their country, their culture and their truth.

UKWELI

The story follows Detroit’s own Taylor “Machine Gun” Duerr, as he fights his way to a national boxing title inside the ring, while fighting the demons of his addiction and his battle with recovery outside of the ring.

We Can Be Heroes

In partnership with Fox Films and Major League Baseball Under the Hood Productions was proud to bring the story of Jim Abbott to the screen. Filmed in Flint MI, the hometown of both Jim Abbott.

Set Apart: Jim Abbot

When Elephants Fight is the award winning documentary film that explores the conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo, a conflict that has taken the lives of almost 6 million Congolese in the past 15 years.

Anatomy of Hate

Under the Hood Productions founder, Mike Ramsdell was honored to work with Film 45 and Peter Berg on this series that was short-listed for an Emmy from Development to completion. It tells the story of the North Minneapolis High School Football team and the coaching staff - made primarily of Police Officers - shortly after the George Floyd murder.

Boys In Blue

This project is in development. A series that will follow one great athlete, as they recount the athlete they most admired and modeled themselves after. Each episode will culminate in these two great athletes coming together to discuss the sport they love, and how they play it in a way that only two greats can. For the teaser we were honored to work with Detroit Tigers Great Lance Parrish and Hall of Fame Catcher Johnny Bench.

Greats on Greats

This project is in development. The Social Contract with Joe Walsh is an unscripted series about the pact at the core of the American experiment, and what’s happening to it today. The series is an exploration of America’s most pressing and misunderstood issues—not from a news organization, not from a documentary filmmaker—but from a man who once sat at the center of the American political system, hell-bent on destroying it, and has now dedicated the rest of his “breathing life” to repairing it.

20+ years of experience in social impact storytelling

Although technology and platforms have changed dramatically in the last 20 years, the human connection to story has not. With this as our NorthStar, we have crafted stories and campaigns at the local and international level.

Working with clients from start-ups to international policymakers, we’ve learned a lot – but nothing more important than the first question. It’s not “what’s your story?” – it’s “what’s your objective?”

Let’s make an impact together

If you have any questions or are interested in a proposal, we’re happy to chat!
